BRUCE is a band of musicians formed
in Vermont. Their music, based on a 4D dialogue between
founder Marc Cantlin
and co-conspirator 5-Track (the other half of the brain), draws on funk, freejazz,
rocknroll, afro-groove and etc. BRUCE songs have been covered by Seattle-based
groups The Bond ("Preacher's Last Stand"), Glass Goblins ("Two Stones", "See To Sin") and
Coulby Styles' Project ("Beaver Mimic in A Minor").
Marc & 5 take turns on guitar, bass,
and singing - sometimes they trade instruments in the middle of a song. Each
of them contributes original music. A lot of each set is
channelled in the moment from pure energy. here are sample recordings "Too Many Looks" "The Clock Song" (single edit)

For their Seattle appearance at the EMP's Liquid Lounge, opening for Alex Zimmerman's Outside The Lines in March of 2005, Marc & 5 were accompanied by drummist Coulby Styles. In addition to the Bruce show at Liquid Lounge, Marc & 5 performed on March 9th 2005 with Andrew Woods (Neon Brown), Mike Odoherty (Atma), Wes Amundsen (Glass Goblins, Sunday Morning Sidewalk, Seeing Blind) & Miles L Corum, Original Thinking (Underground Weather, Outside The Lines) as part of "Neon Brown Presents" at Mr Spot's Chai House, Ballard, Seattle, WA, USA, Earth. (They did it again in 2006, with Dave Foley on the drums.)
